Esteban Maroto

Esteban Maroto is a Spanish illustrator whose ornate, art-nouveau-inflected drawing style made him one of the most recognisable Selecciones Ilustradas artists to reach the American market in the 1970s. His work appeared extensively in Warren magazines (Creepy, Eerie, Vampirella) as well as in Tower, Red Sonja and numerous cover assignments. Maroto's sinuous line, decorative black shapes and mythological sensibility remain widely imitated.
