About the artist

Alan Davis

Alan Davis is one of the most accomplished British artists of the modern mainstream, celebrated for his clarity of line, elegant figure construction and cinematic command of page layout. After early work on Captain Britain and Marvelman, he built defining runs on Excalibur, Detective Comics and his creator-owned ClanDestine. His JLA: The Nail (with writer Mark Waid) is regarded as one of the finest Elseworlds stories. Davis often self-inks, preserving the purity of his distinctive line.

About this series

Spider-Man

Spider-Man, co-created in 1962 by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, is one of the defining characters of the Marvel Age. Foundational runs include Ditko's original tenure, John Romita Sr.'s Silver Age pages, Todd McFarlane's high-commercial 1990s relaunch and Mark Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man with Brian Michael Bendis — a lineage that has made Spider-Man one of the most continuously drawn characters in American comics.
