About the artist

Bill Sienkiewicz

Bill Sienkiewicz is an American artist whose arrival at Marvel Comics in the early 1980s redefined what was possible within mainstream superhero art. Beginning as a Neal Adams protégé on Moon Knight, he evolved rapidly toward a radical mixed-media style — combining photo-collage, expressionist brushwork and graphic design — that produced landmark works including Elektra: Assassin (with Frank Miller) and his own Stray Toasters. An Eisner Hall of Fame inductee, Sienkiewicz remains one of the medium’s most formally adventurous image-makers.

About this series

Conan the Barbarian

Conan the Barbarian, Robert E. Howard's Cimmerian warrior created in the 1932 pulps, has been a fixture of comics since Marvel's 1970 adaptation by writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith — later continued for a historic run by John Buscema. Countless artists across Marvel and Dark Horse have since contributed to the Hyborian Age, making Conan one of the most continuously illustrated literary characters in the medium.
