About the artist

Marc Silvestri

Marc Silvestri is an American comic artist and one of the seven founding partners of Image Comics (1992), where he established the imprint Top Cow Productions. His earlier acclaimed runs on Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine defined a key chapter of the late-1980s X-line; at Image he went on to create CyberForce, The Darkness and co-create Witchblade. Silvestri’s highly rendered, kinetic style was one of the visual signatures of 1990s American comics.

About this series

X-Men

The X-Men, created in 1963 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, became a cultural phenomenon through Chris Claremont's seventeen-year writing tenure alongside artists including John Byrne, Dave Cockrum, Paul Smith and Marc Silvestri. Subsequent generations — Grant Morrison with Frank Quitely and Ethan Van Sciver, Jonathan Hickman's Krakoan era — have made the franchise one of the longest-running experimental projects in mainstream American comics.
