About the artist

Alfonso Azpiri

Alfonso Azpiri was a leading Spanish comic artist and illustrator, associated with the adult-fantasy magazines of the 1980s including Heavy Metal and El Víbora. His flagship creation, Lorna, became one of the most internationally recognised Spanish science-fiction-erotic series of the era. Azpiri was also a prolific video-game cover illustrator during the Spanish 8-bit golden age, producing iconic artwork for Dinamic Software and Topo Soft. His airbrushed, sensual style defined a generation of Spanish commercial fantasy art.

About this series

Spider-Man

Spider-Man, co-created in 1962 by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, is one of the defining characters of the Marvel Age. Foundational runs include Ditko's original tenure, John Romita Sr.'s Silver Age pages, Todd McFarlane's high-commercial 1990s relaunch and Mark Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man with Brian Michael Bendis — a lineage that has made Spider-Man one of the most continuously drawn characters in American comics.
