Antonio H Palacios

Antonio Hernández Palacios was one of the great masters of Spanish historical comics. His sustained bodies of work include El Cid — a monumental retelling of the medieval epic — as well as the westerns Manos Kelly and the long-running Franco-Belgian series Mac Coy. Palacios's lush painted colour work, archaeological attention to period detail and grand narrative scope set a standard for historical comics that remains influential among Spanish and European artists.
