About the artist

Charlie Adlard

Charlie Adlard is a British comic artist whose long association with writer Robert Kirkman on The Walking Dead (Image Comics, 2004–2019) made him one of the most widely read cartoonists of the twenty-first century. Over more than a decade and nearly two hundred issues, his atmospheric black-and-white inking gave the post-apocalyptic saga its distinctive grave, almost documentary register. Earlier credits include a lengthy run on 2000 AD‘s Savage and the World War I graphic novel White Death.

About this series

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead (Image Comics, 2003–2019) is a 193-issue post-apocalyptic serial by writer Robert Kirkman and — from issue #7 onward — artist Charlie Adlard, widely regarded as the longest sustained zombie narrative in the history of comics. Adlard's atmospheric black-and-white inkwork gave the series a grave, almost documentary register that set it apart from mainstream horror comics.
