Savage Sword of Conan
About the artist
Michael Kaluta
Michael William Kaluta is an American illustrator whose ornate, Art Nouveau-influenced line distinguished him from his peers in the Bronze Age of American comics. His 1970s run on DC’s The Shadow redefined the character for a generation of readers. Kaluta has since built a career as a sought-after cover artist, book illustrator and creator of the long-running space-opera Starstruck (with writer Elaine Lee).
About this series
Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Barbarian, Robert E. Howard's Cimmerian warrior created in the 1932 pulps, has been a fixture of comics since Marvel's 1970 adaptation by writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith — later continued for a historic run by John Buscema. Countless artists across Marvel and Dark Horse have since contributed to the Hyborian Age, making Conan one of the most continuously illustrated literary characters in the medium.
