Dave Stevens
Dave Stevens was an American comic artist and illustrator best known as the creator of The Rocketeer (1982), a loving tribute to the serial-film heroes of the 1930s that was later adapted into the 1991 Disney feature film. Stevens’s work was characterised by meticulous draughtsmanship, a restrained use of line and an unabashed romanticism drawn from pin-up and pulp sources; his small body of work is among the most collected of his generation.
