About the artist
Enrique V. Vegas
Enrique V. Vegas is a Spanish cartoonist celebrated for his parodic, big-headed (“cabezonil”) versions of blockbuster films and superhero comics. Trained on a realist foundation rooted in John Buscema and Alfredo Alcalá — he illustrated Conan stories for Planeta before moving into animation — he co-founded Estudio Dece, where the Arbillos books (1999–2000) lampooned Aliens and Predator. Since 2007 the Dolmen-published Colección Enrique V. Vegas has gathered his work in volumes that consistently rank among the best-selling Spanish comics, and the city of Santander awarded him the José Ramón Sánchez Prize for his career trajectory.
