About the artist

Frank Miller

Frank Miller is an American writer and artist whose work profoundly reshaped the American comic of the late twentieth century. His 1980s runs on Daredevil introduced a hard-boiled, noir-inflected approach to the superhero; The Dark Knight Returns (1986) and Batman: Year One redefined the Batman mythology for a generation. His creator-owned Sin City and the historical epic 300 moved further toward graphic abstraction, influencing comics, cinema and design at large.

About this series

Daredevil

Daredevil, created in 1964 by Stan Lee and Bill Everett, was reinvented in 1979 as a hardboiled urban hero by writer-artist Frank Miller. Subsequent landmark runs by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr. (Man Without Fear), Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, and Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark have made Daredevil Marvel's canonical noir title.
