About the artist

Simone Bianchi

Simone Bianchi is an Italian comic artist whose classically trained, densely textured painted work has appeared across Marvel and DC since the mid-2000s. His runs on Astonishing X-Men, Wolverine and Thor: For Asgard demonstrated an operatic, baroque approach to superhero imagery that stands apart from the contemporary mainstream. He is also a prolific cover artist.

About this series

Spider-Man

Spider-Man, co-created in 1962 by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, is one of the defining characters of the Marvel Age. Foundational runs include Ditko's original tenure, John Romita Sr.'s Silver Age pages, Todd McFarlane's high-commercial 1990s relaunch and Mark Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man with Brian Michael Bendis — a lineage that has made Spider-Man one of the most continuously drawn characters in American comics.
