About the artist

Eduardo Risso

Eduardo Risso is an Argentine comic artist best known for his long collaboration with writer Brian Azzarello on the Vertigo crime epic 100 Bullets (1999–2009), for which he won multiple Eisner and Harvey Awards. Risso’s stark, confidently geometric black-and-white pages draw on the great Argentine school (Breccia, Muñoz) while refining it into a sharply cinematic noir style. He has since reunited with Azzarello on Moonshine and other projects.

About this series

100 Bullets

100 Bullets (Vertigo, 1999–2009) is the hundred-issue crime epic by writer Brian Azzarello and artist Eduardo Risso, in which individuals are offered an untraceable gun and a hundred bullets to avenge a personal wrong — unspooling into a labyrinthine conspiracy about the Trust, a shadow oligarchy. Risso's austere, architecturally composed black-and-white pages set a new standard for crime comics in the era.
