Sean Phillips is a British comic artist whose long-running collaboration with writer Ed Brubaker has produced one of the most celebrated bodies of work in contemporary crime comics: Sleeper, Criminal, Fatale, The Fade Out and Reckless. Phillips’s moody, heavily rendered line — typically coloured by his son Jacob Phillips — brings a consistently literary, noirish atmosphere to the page.
