Sam Kieth is an American comic artist whose idiosyncratic, densely inked style made him a cult figure from the late 1980s onward. He provided art for the earliest issues of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman before creating The Maxx (Image, 1993) — a surreal superhero deconstruction adapted into a celebrated MTV animated series. Kieth’s later creator-owned work includes Zero Girl and Four Women.
