George Pérez was one of the most beloved and technically ambitious artists of the American superhero tradition. His collaboration with writer Marv Wolfman on The New Teen Titans and the industry-defining Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985–86) established him as a master of large-cast storytelling and intricate page composition. Subsequent runs on Wonder Woman, The Avengers (with Kurt Busiek) and JLA/Avengers confirmed his status as an Eisner Hall of Fame artist. His generosity of spirit was as celebrated as his craft.
