Eric Powell is the writer-artist creator of The Goon, the supernatural crime comic that has defined his career since 1999. After founding Albatross Exploding Funnybooks to keep the title alive, the series moved to Dark Horse in 2003 and has since won multiple Eisner Awards for its singular fusion of pulp violence, monster-mash horror and laconic Tennessee humour. A leading advocate of creator-owned comics, Powell has gone on to publish Hillbilly, Big Man Plans and the children’s book Does the Tapir Like Pancakes? through his own Albatross Funnybooks imprint.
