Enrique Breccia is an Argentine comic artist who grew up in the orbit of his father, the master Alberto Breccia. With writer Carlos Trillo he created the long-running adventure serial Alvar Mayor, set in colonial South America. Later work for the American market included a run on DC/Vertigo’s Swamp Thing. Breccia combines the Argentine school’s painterly ambition with a bold, narrative line.
