About the artist
José Luis Salinas
José Luis Salinas was an Argentine illustrator regarded as one of the giants of classical adventure comics. His Sunday page The Cisco Kid (King Features, 1951–1968), scripted by Rod Reed, is considered a masterpiece of the western strip — widely admired for its classical draughtsmanship, architectural landscapes and refined pen-and-brush technique. His earlier serial Hernán el Corsario (from 1936) is a cornerstone of the Argentine comics canon.
