V for Vendetta
About the artist
David Lloyd
David Lloyd is a British comic artist best known as the co-creator and illustrator of V for Vendetta (with writer Alan Moore, 1982–1989) — a dystopian serial whose Guy Fawkes mask has become one of the most widely recognised political icons of the twenty-first century. Lloyd’s work on the series established a mood-driven, high-contrast black-and-white style without traditional sound effects or thought balloons, a radical formal choice at the time.
About this series
V for Vendetta
V for Vendetta (1982–1989) is the dystopian serial by writer Alan Moore and artist David Lloyd, first serialised in the British anthology Warrior before concluding at DC Comics. Its protagonist's Guy Fawkes mask has become one of the most widely recognised political icons of the twenty-first century; Lloyd's moody, caption-driven storytelling reshaped what mood and space a mainstream comic could carry.
