Paul Smith
Paul Smith is an American comic artist whose brief but widely admired run on Chris Claremont’s Uncanny X-Men (1983, issues #165–175) introduced a clean, design-driven sensibility distinct from the house style of the period — including the character redesign of Storm. He later co-created Leave It to Chance with James Robinson at Homage Comics.

X-Men
The X-Men, created in 1963 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, became a cultural phenomenon through Chris Claremont's seventeen-year writing tenure alongside artists including John Byrne, Dave Cockrum, Paul Smith and Marc Silvestri. Subsequent generations — Grant Morrison with Frank Quitely and Ethan Van Sciver, Jonathan Hickman's Krakoan era — have made the franchise one of the longest-running experimental projects in mainstream American comics.
